Zoo Atlanta's Keeper for a Day: Reptiles and Amphibians program takes place on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Zoo Atlanta. Participants join the Herpetology Care Team for a behind-the-scenes day with reptiles and amphibians, from small frogs to endangered lizards.

The program is for ages 16 and up. Participants meet members of the Animal Care Team and an animal, learn about positive reinforcement training and enrichment, and do hands-on keeper tasks such as raking, sweeping, hosing and scrubbing. Participation is voluntary for the animals. The zoo notes that participants should be comfortable getting dirty, standing for long stretches and lifting up to 30 pounds.

Registration and details are on the official Zoo Atlanta page.
