The Moxy hotel taking shape in downtown Atlanta will not just be a place to sleep. Ahead of its planned early-2026 debut at 329 Marietta St. NW, Moxy Atlanta Downtown has put a name to its lobby drinking spot: Bar Moxy, which will sit alongside the rooftop program as part of the property's food and beverage lineup.
According to a release from the hotel, Bar Moxy is being built around a social, upbeat atmosphere and a cocktail menu. The bar also doubles as part of the arrival routine. Guests who check in at the hotel will be offered a complimentary cocktail there, a perk that folds the front desk and the bar into a single first stop.
Bar Moxy is one of three spots on the property expected to pour cocktails. The other two sit up top. Jagger Suite, the hotel's rooftop lounge, is already part of the plan, and the reporting indicates a speakeasy is also likely to take shape inside that rooftop space. Each of the rooftop venues is expected to run its own drinks program, distinct from what is served downstairs.
LBA Hospitality is the operator behind the hotel. Beyond the bars, the 183-room property is slated to include meeting spaces and a fitness center open around the clock.
Alfonce McKinney, the hotel's general manager, framed the project around Atlanta's energy and the attention the city is about to receive. In the release, he said the Moxy brand fits the city's character and that the team wants the hotel to give both locals and visitors a close-up view of Atlanta as it steps into the global spotlight.
That spotlight is the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The plan, as described in the announcement, is for Bar Moxy and the hotel's other food and beverage outlets to open at the same time as the hotel itself in early 2026, so the property is fully up and running before the tournament comes to the city.
Readers who have followed the building's construction can look back at our earlier report on the tower nearing its topping out, and our coverage of the hotel's grand opening date picks up the story from there.
With a free welcome drink at check-in, a lobby bar built for mingling and a rooftop with its own separate offerings, Moxy Atlanta Downtown is pitching its bars to the same two audiences its general manager named: Atlanta locals and the travelers arriving for the tournament.
