Downtown's hotel count keeps climbing ahead of the World Cup. Moxy Atlanta Downtown has set its grand opening celebration for March 26, adding 183 rooms within walking distance of Mercedes-Benz Stadium and the attractions clustered around Centennial Olympic Park.
The Marriott International property leans on what the brand calls its signature playful design and social spaces. It is topped by a rooftop lounge concept named the Jagger Suite, and includes a street-level bar and a speakeasy.
Food comes from Eggslut, the Los Angeles-based breakfast and gourmet sandwich chain, which will operate inside the hotel. It is the brand's first East Coast location, with a second Atlanta outpost planned at the Krog District.
The 10-story building fills a gap on Marietta Street formerly occupied by a parking lot and a low-rise commercial building, standing next to the Hyatt Place Atlanta near the Georgia Aquarium, the Georgia World Congress Center and the College Football Hall of Fame. Its current form is a scaled-back version of taller, bolder original designs.
Earliest bookings ran from March 15, with rates starting around $207 a night for a queen room. Valet parking runs $55 a day, dogs are welcome for $75 per stay, and each stay includes a complimentary cocktail at Bar Moxy.
The hotel is being developed by Nexera Capital and Emerge Hospitality Group and will be operated by LBA Hospitality. Marriott positions Moxy as more playful and more affordable than its upscale flags; more than 125 operate worldwide. The company opened Atlanta's other Moxy - a dual-branded property fused with its AC Hotel brand - on 14th Street in Midtown just before the 2019 Super Bowl.
It joins a dense run of recent hospitality activity near downtown's park and arenas: the 22-story Margaritaville resort condo building, which opened in 2022; the Signia by Hilton, which delivered nearly 1,000 rooms in 2024 as Atlanta's tallest new hotel in four decades; the adaptive-reuse Origin Hotel Atlanta, which debuted in early 2025; and Centennial Yards' 229-room Hotel Phoenix, which opened in November with a second 230-room lodge rising in its entertainment district.
