What it is
Sitting right beside Mercedes-Benz Stadium, The Home Depot Backyard is the stadium campus’s big lawn — and it earns its keep well beyond game day. Programming is built around three pillars: Arts + Culture, Health + Wellness and Inspired Learning. Expect yoga, HIIT, bootcamps and youth and senior fitness classes, plus painting, poetry, storytelling, cooking, gardening, bike safety, STEAM and eGaming sessions. Many of the weekly programs are free, with sign-ups posted on the Backyard’s page.
Game days and big nights
On Falcons and Atlanta United dates the lawn turns into a tailgate, and the Big Screen on the Green series brings outdoor movies to the space. Tailgate activities are open to the public, so you can walk up and hang out even if you parked somewhere else. Backyard parking passes are sold through the stadium’s parking site: individual passes for Atlanta United matches, while Falcons passes are reserved for season pass holders and Super Tailgaters. For concerts and special events, the stadium names its Orange, Silver and Red decks as the next closest option once Backyard parking sells out.
Getting here
The stadium recommends Vine City MARTA Station, which lets you out just across Northside Drive from Gate 1 — use the crosswalk or the pedestrian bridge. Rideshare riders are pointed to the same spot.
Hosting an event
The Backyard accepts proposals from groups and businesses that want to host an event in the space. The stadium asks large gatherings of more than 2,500 people to apply three to six months ahead, and other events at least 45 days out.
