Johnny Mercer wrote or co-wrote more than a thousand songs and won four Academy Awards, and he did it as a Georgian — born in Savannah, co-founder of Capitol Records, and the lyricist behind "Moon River," "Autumn Leaves," and "Come Rain or Come Shine." The Georgia State Jazz Band builds an entire program around that catalog.
The Rialto Center for the Arts is Georgia State's 833-seat downtown theater at 80 Forsyth St, a restored 1916 movie house that now anchors the university's performance calendar.
Curtain is at 7:30 p.m.
